Module 21 Blog Post 2

Societal Cultural tools that assist with memory:
1.     specifically remember watching the video Shindler’s list in my US history class during High School. This cultural video sticks out in my memory and helped me learn about the events that occurred during the holocaust.  I believe watching meaningful videos that correlate with lessons can effectively help students remember material.   Since technology is available in our culture it’s common to use it, and watch videos that will help us learn material.

2.     Another powerful tool that assists students in memory is group projects that require their own research.  By becoming an “expert” in a specific topic students learn better.  Students can use technology such as power point to present their information.  I specifically remember learning better through group projects in which I organized the information I learned and found an interesting way to present this material to the class through the use of technology or other ways.

  1. I had a similar experience to your experience with watching Shindler's List. I also vividly remember the whole movie and how I felt while watching the movie. I agree that using technology is very important in teaching and learning.
