Here are some examples of cultural/societal tools that assist with memory:
1) A teacher requires her class to create a powerpoint presentation about their vocabulary words from last week. This assists with memory because it is strengthening the connections the student has made to the vocabulary words already in his or her head. Powerpoint, or any other kind of technology, is an extremely important part of our culture and society today.
2) A teacher shows her class a video that reinforces the material they have just learned from their textbook. Not only does this reinforce the material and assist with their memory of the material, but it also is an important part of our society. Watching videos in class has become commonplace and helps students remember what they learn by reinforcing it.
