Module 21 Post 2

1. When teachers are teaching about the Holocaust or an event that happened that has real life connections, the teacher can bring this idea more relevant to a student by providing them with a field trip to a Holocaust museum or bring a speaker into a classroom. This idea better connects students with the actual event discussing and learning, and allows students to feel a more personal connection to the event being learned.

2. A teacher used a Smartboard presentation to have the students learn a math lesson. In society today, Smartboards are almost present in all classrooms. Students relate to these because they are able to manipulate the actual board, and able to participate not just by raising their hands, but actually by going up and using the board. It is fascinating to watch a student be able to grasp the material on the actual level of touching, and manipulating the board.

The video discusses how a computer program could be used for employers to train their employees. I think in a classroom a student can learn how to type from a computer program. This idea of home row keys and understanding where the letters on the keyboard could come from a computer program instead of a teacher teaching it or a student helping another student.
